Indo-Lanka Free Trade Agreement will be finalised shortly [13, Jan 2000] The Free Trade Agreement signed between India and Sri Lanka in December 1998 is being reviewed and is expected to be finalised shortly, Trade and Comerce Minister Kingsley T. Wickramaratne said. Addressing the 'India-Tech 2000' exhibition at the BMICH Tuesday, the Minister said that this agreement could not take off, as envisaged due to non-completion of certain pending matters. "The provisions of the Free Trade Agreement will go a long way assisting the negotiations of the transactions, which will follow this exhibition, among the entrepreneurs of our two countries" he added.
