Germany has tightened its immigration regulations on mostly Tamil youth who are slipping out of the country to other neighboring countries.

Apparently expressing their disapproval towards Tamil rebel activities in Germany, German authorities have begun to crack down on Sri Lankan illegal immigrants.

  The applications for asylum of the twenty deportees who included six persons over fifty years, were rejected by the German authorities. Two of them who are being held by the CID for further questioning arrived in Colombo on Thursday morning accompanied by 35 border policemen.  

 "We felt that the German authorities have changed their attitude on the ethnic issue and are gradually taking tough action against the Sri Lankans," Thuraisingham Bavanandan, one of the deportees said.  

 The German government from last years had strengthened procedures for asylum seekers and has also stepped up visa checking.

  The LTTE has a wide network of front organizations, which actively collect funds for its terrorist activities, often operating under the guise of charitable, welfare to cultural organizations in a number of foreign countries.

  According to political sources the LTTE's backlash against the Sri Lankan Government through brutal assassinations on the civilian population is condemned by foreign countries, especially when the government and the people are attempting to resolve the ethnic conflict.
