Yesterday
around 9 pm out at sea off Kokilai, 02 fishermen while fishing in the area
were fired upon by the terrorists who had come in a boat similar to a
Naval gun boat. The boat
was sunk due to terrorist fire and the two fishermen managed to escape and
report the incident to the Kokilai army camp. In
Andankulam, Welioya, around 10.55 am troops in an ambush were attacked by
a group of terrorists. During the brief fire fight, three terrorists were
killed. Subsequently troops recovered one terrorist body along with one T
56 weapons. The other two dead bodies were not recovered due to the heavy
volume of terrorist fire. The body of the dead terrorist is at Padaviya
Hospital and would be handed over to the ICRC today. Around 1
am at Mannar town, on information troops recovered one T56 weapon, two
magazines and one hand grenade. Around
8.30 am in Iyakachchi, Jaffna, snipers deployed along the defences killed
one terrorist. On
Tuesday, around 6.55 pm in Muhavil, Jaffna, troops sniped at and killed one terrorist.
