Thirty
LTTE suspects were rounded up yesterday and during the weekend in a
combined search operation by the police and the Navy. Twenty
five Tiger suspects, including four women cadres were arrested by the
police and Navy in Wattala yesterday. The
suspects had failed to explain their presence in the Wattala area. Most of
them were from Jaffna and Batticaloa districts, police said. They are
being interrogated by the police authorities to find out further details. Meanwhile,
five more suspects were also arrested by a special police team in a
massive search operation in Colombo during the weekend. Police intensified their search operations especially in the Colombo City and its suburbs after arrested Tiger suspects confessed about LTTE infiltration from North and North East areas.
