Another crew member of Irish Mona to be released today

Another crew member of the 'Irish Mona' ship which was detained by the LTTE in August 1998, will be released today, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said.

According to ICRC spokesman, Harsha Gunawardene, Wijayakoon Herath Mudiyanselage Jayaratne Banda, a crew member of the ship will be released on humanitarian grounds, today.

Several crew members of the ship who were taken into custody by the LTTE have been released by them from time to time, ICRC said.

Two more workers of the ship are still in the custody of the LTTE, while four crew members of the 'Princess Cash' ship and five of the ship 'Mission' are still being detained by the LTTE, reports said.
