Army colonel and three others arrested in drug racket

An Army colonel and three others have been arrested after a civilian attached to a Maradana medical centre was caught with a large stock of drugs allegedly stolen from the Army hospital.

The civilian was caught at a checkpoint near the army headquarters carrying two parcels containing drugs from the military hospital, military sources said.

The drugs valued at Rs.29,000 were used for kidney ailments, sources said.

On questioning the civilian, he said the drugs were given to him officer attached to the Army hospital, which later led to the arrest of the colonel and the others involved.
