Acting Defence Minister explain security situation in parliament

Minister of Irrigation and Power and Acting Minister of Defence General Anuruddha Ratwatte at the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, said that the military campaign against the terrorists is being continued under the complete control of the three armed forces commanders backed by appropriate political leadership.

A press release from the Information Department said that Gen. Ratwatte traced the developments in the North since the capture of Jaffna up to the recent withdrawal. 

Adequate arrangements are being made in respect of those who are fighting, the injured and also for funerals of those who have fallen in the battlefield, he said.

Cabinet of Ministers also unanimously decided to donate one month's salary to the Defence Fund.
