India's air force chief, Anil Yaswant Tipnis, is scheduled to arrive Sri Lanka on a five day official visit, Sri Lankan airforce sources said today. Air Chief Marshal Tipnis will be accorded a guard of honour on Monday, the airforce said. According to Indian officials, the visit was routine and was unrelated to Sri Lanka's call for international assistance in the face of Tigers offensive against government forces in Jaffna. They also said that the visit had been scheduled before the Sri Lankan crisis.
