38 Countries express willingness to assist Sri Lanka's conflict

Thirty eight countries have expressed willingness to support Sri Lanka's northern conflict as a result of a  meeting held by the foreign ministry with the foreign ambassadors, acting Foreign Minister Lakshman Kiriella said.

The minister also revealed that already a number of countries were willing to extend military support to Sri Lanka and that the government was in the process seeking assistance from other countries as well.

Further, Mr. Kiriella pointed out to President Kumaratunga's correct and genuine foreign policies for the positive responses given by a large number of foreign countries.

UK, Germany, Israel, Russia, Malaysia, Pakistan and India were among the countries that have informed to extend assistance to Sri Lanka's fight against terrorism.
