The government has appointed a committee headed by Ministers A.H.M.Fowzie and Alavi Mowlana to inform Muslim nationals and the High Commissioners of the Arabian region on the reasons for the establishment of diplomatic relations with Israel, as the Muslim congress has requested for further revision of the establishment of diplomatic ties with the Israel government. The Muslim Congress leader A.H.M Ashroff met with President Kumaratunga, yesterday for further discussions on the view of the Muslim Congress. The Acting Foreign Minister Lakshman Kiriella said diplomatic relations would be established before May. The High Commissioner for Sri Lanka in India, Mangala Moonasinghe will report to Tel Aviv, Israel to discuss the matter and make necessary arrangements for the establishment of the diplomatic relations, sources said. Minister Lakshman Kiriella said, Israel has agreed to provide military support to the Sri Lankan government and he is currently holding further discussion with the High Commissioners who have agreed to assist the Sri Lankan government with military support, reports confirm
