BJP not in favor for lifting LTTE ban

"We are not for lifting the ban not is there any such proposal before the Government," said India's ruling alliance, Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) on Thursday.

"The demand for lifting the ban on LTTE, if at all made by any political party, is not justified," said BJP spokesman Venkaiah Naidu.

 Asked whether Marumalarachchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), partner in the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), had sought lifting the ban on LTTE, Mr. Naidu responded that to his knowledge the MDMK had made no demand.
