Wife of the Poosari of the Kathiresan Kovil in Bambalapitiya, allegedly storing explosives and suicide kits for the use of the LTTE hit squads in Colombo had disappeared just before her husband was taken into custody, police officials said yesterday. The Colombo Detective Bureau have taken the Poosari into custody for questioning as they received intelligence reports that the Poosari's wife had met LTTE's intelligence chief Pottu Amman at Kilinochchi recently and agreed to support in transporting explosives to Colombo as part of a plot to assassinate several senior Cabinet Ministers, Tamil politicians and some police officers in Colombo. According to latest reports, the disappeared wife is reported to be hiding in the northern town of Pudukudirrippu. Investigations are in progress.
