[22 May 2000]

Around fifteen youth have been deported by Dubai authorities, recently due to illegal LTTE fund raising operations in the Middle East, to continue the ruthless war against Sri Lankan troops, sources said.

According to the Criminal Investigation Department the fifteen youth arrested are natives of Jaffna and Mullativu and are at present unable to explain the reason why they were in the Middle East.

Negombo magistrate, Saman Wickramaratne, last week remanded the youth, indefinitely, sources said.

The LTTE, are at present on fund raising missions in a number of countries, abroad in order to gain financial support to fight the war against the Sri Lankan government, whom they claim are preventing their right of a separate homeland in Sri Lanka.
