The Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force in an announcement called for all Volunteer officers and other ranks to report for active service immediately. "The Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force informs all officers and other ranks of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force currently Released from Active Service Without Pay (RASWP), that they should report for active service with immediate effect to their respective Regimental Headquarters," a Special Media Information Centre release said. It also said that under section 144 of the Army Act, employers of personnel of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteers Force are required to release such personnel for active duty.
