The LTTE has also banned civilians from using Echanthive-Mankikadu road, Sthiyamalai-Vavnathivu road and the Kurunchanmanai-Vavnathivu road, which has caused severe inconvenience to the people.

According to civilians coming from uncleared areas, the roads have been blocked after the LTTE declared for everyone under the age of 45 years to join the ranks.

These families have taken shelter in kovils, schools and some even under trees accusing the LTTE for disrupting their normal lives including the education of their children.
