The Deputy Minister of Defence Annuruddha Ratwatte, who had visited the battle front on the instructions of the President to encourage the security personnel who had to face certain setbacks in the Elephant Pass terrorist attack and provide them correct leadership and guidance returned to Colombo this morning. Specially at a moment when the groups supporting the LTTE have launched a propaganda campaign through the local and foreign media broadcasting arrogantly that Jaffna town will fall into the hands of the LTTE in a matter of few hours, his presence in the Palali camp in Jaffna peninsula providing correct leadership to repulse terrorist attack, and making arrangements to attend to the needs of the war heroes after looking into them personally has boosted their morale. The Minister Ratwatte told the Special Media Information Centre this morning that the security forces are engaged in an offensive battle at this moment against the enemy with a firm determination.
