President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga has sent Thank you messages to General Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan and to the President of the Czechoslovakian Republic. Cultural Affairs Minister Lakshman Jayakody will meet General Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan today, to hand over the message of appreciation from the Sri Lankan President for lending Pakistan's hand in the hour of need. Earlier, Jayakody visited India and handed over a similar message to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Also, Media Minister Mangala Samaraweera handed over a message of appreciation to the President of the Czechoslovakian Republic. Similar messages of appreciation will be sent to other countries that provided assistance during the difficult times, which Sri Lanka had to face recently.
