Switzerland has become the main base for the LTTE, when many European countries are trying to crackdown on terrorist activities, newspapers reveal. Reports indicate that around 2 million francs was collected each month by the LTTE, who have now opened two new offices in Geneva and Lausanne. While Sri Lankan authorities repeatedly ask Swiss authorities to take action against these terrorists, the Swiss have asked for proof, sources said. Switzerland is not is not a party to the UN Convention on Suppression of Terrorist Fund Raising like many countries in Europe.
