Canadian law enforcement authorities arrested, last week Navayogachandran Kurunathan, 26, who is wanted in Britain for a number of sexual assaults on a minor, sources said. Kurunathan was wanted in Britain for a string of sexual assaults on a minor who was living with his brother’s family, was arrested in Britain late last year and later released on bail. He later jumped bail and fled to Sri Lanka, from where he entered Canada in March this year, through the US. “ Britain is expected to begin extradition procedures in order to secure Navayogachandran’s deportation to the United Kingdom so that he could face trial. At present he is being held at the Metro West Detention Centre,” sources revealed.
