Police investigations have begun in to the arrest of Sri Lankan Tamil youth Lakshmikanta Vasudevan, 25, at the Calcutta International airport on Monday night on charges of traveling with a forged Indian passport. A resident of Jaffna, Vasudevan was taken into custody after he arrived at the airport from Thailand in a Thai Airways flight. Investigations have revealed that the youth had boarded a plane to Singapore in New Delhi. But the Singapore government has refused to let him enter the country and sent him back to India via Thailand.
