The United national Party (UNP) handed over its first nomination list for the forthcoming General Election to Ratnapura returning officer yesterday. The 13-member nominations list was handed over by General Secretary Gamini Athukorala. The list did not contain two former parliamentarians Nanda Mathew who crossed over to government party and Upatissa Silva. According to party sources Mr. Silva had opted not to contest the election due to his health conditions. UNP's list includes six provincial councilors, two former parliamentarians, two former provincial councilors a pradeshiya sabha member and a gem merchant.
