Sihala Urumaya requests govt to provide security

Sihala Urumaya requested the government to provide them with security to visit Jaffna and hand over their nominations, a spokesman for the Party said.

According to the spokesman, they have made a formal request to the Elections Commissioner and the Police who are in charge of election security.

Sihala Urumaya will contest 17 districts and a list of 12 members has already been prepared for the Jaffna district.

Sihala Urumaya has been campaigning for a total war against the LTTE and is opposed to any constitutional reforms that provide devolution of power as a means of settling the ethnic conflict.
