Srimani's nomination rejected

The independent group fielded by former Minister and Lalith Front Leader Srimani Athulathmudali was rejected by Elections Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayake yesterday.

"The list has been submitted after the nomination period," the Commissioner said.

Mrs. Athulathmudali who withdrew her team from the PA list decided to field an independent group at the eleventh hour.

The nomination of United Sinhala Maha Sabha was also rejected by the Commissioner due to same reasons.
