Five Tiger terrorists arrested at Kataragama
[07 September 2000]

Five LTTE suspects were taken into custody by the army and police in a joint search operation conducted on August 31 in Kataragama area.

The operation was carried out prior to the arrival of several key politicians to make vows before commencement of election campaigns. 

According to investigations the Tamil suspects are residents of Passara and Namunukula.

The search operation was conducted by about 100 security personnel of the Kataragama police and the army.
