Sri Lankan expatriates pledge support to RVSA
[07 September 2000]

The Sri Lankan community living in London pledged to support the Rana Viru Seva Authority (RVSA), by establishing close links and using a variety of resources to support projects, at a special meeting last Thursday organised by the Sri Lankan High Commission in UK.

Its Chairperson, Dr.Tara De Mel, described several key projects of the Rana Viru Seva Authority (RVSA). The meeting was chaired by Sri Lankan High Commissioner in UK, Mangala Moonesinghe at the mission premises in Hyde Park, London.

According to a press release issued by the RVSA mechanisms by which several Sri Lankans can join hands with the RVSA in providing shelter, healthcare, education and other facilities to the families of service personnel in operational areas, those killed or missing in action were discussed.

The RVSA has already established a donor recipient matching system where Rana Viru families requiring special assistance are matched with donors willing to contribute towards their needs.
