The Maha Nayakas of Amarapura Maha Sanga Saba, the most ven. Madihe Pagnaseeha Thera was given an audience to General Secretary, Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna, Tilvin Silva and a political wing member Anura Kumara Dissanayake. They were scheduled to meet Mahanayake on Tuesday 9.00 a.m. The Mahanayake of most Ven. Weweldeniye Medhalankara Maha Nayaka Thera gave another audience on the same day. JVP Spokesman stated that JVP representatives were cordially welcomed by the Mahanayakes and conveyed the sympathy of the recent division and fractions that has taken place in the country. Therefore the Maha Nayake Thera had prevailed upon the leadership of JVP to come forward to unite the country. The Mahanayake of most Ven. Weweldeniye Medhalankara Maha Nayaka Thera had mentioned, if not for the shortcomings of JVP in the past, it would have captured the main power of the country. The JVP showed their manifesto "The five year plan to resurrect the country" and discussed on the matters such as proposed constitutional reforms and election violence in the country.
