Petar Stoyanov, the Bulgarian President stopped over in Colombo yesterday on his way to Sydney, to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries. The President was
welcomed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) by the Minister
of Buddha Sasana and Cultural and Religious Affairs, Lakshman Jayakody. During the meeting
which followed the Minister and the President discussed bilateral
relations between Bulgaria and Sri Lanka. They also emphasized the
importance of strengthening trade, economic and cultural relations. The President and his delegation left Colombo last afternoon.
