The European Union has approved a fund project for a EU mission to observe parliamentary elections in Sri Lanka on October 10, sources revealed. According to the European Commission, the Executive Branch of the EU, the project will have a total fund of 701,385 euros (603,191 U.S Dollars). The EU mission who will arrive in the country early next week will consist of a team of six experts, including a chief observer and 28 long-term campaign observers. They will observe campaign activities in the Capital Colombo and other provinces. A EU statement revealed that 40 short-term observers would arrive in the week leading up to the poll.
