A LTTE suicide bomber, exploded himself at the main entrance of the Eye Hospital in Maradana, Colombo, today around 10.02 am killing at least five people including a policeman. A by-stander had warned the police of the suspicious person at the time loitering the streets. Later, while attempting to inspect the man the bomber had detonated the suicide kit, sources revealed. According to witnesses the bomber may have targeted a military vehicle that had been travelling from the area. An eyewitness, in one of the shops in the area said that two customers he was serving also died from the blast. A three-wheeler driver who had been near by also stated that two persons who had been standing in front him also died from the explosion. However, further investigations are being carried out regarding the incident. Meanwhile, the security of the area has been further strengthened and the roads connecting to the junction have been closed.
