Three wheeler found with two 20kg bombs
 [15 September 2000]

At a Kalmunai checkpoint, Police took a three-wheeler transporting two 20kg bombs from Kalmunai to Anuradhapura, into custody yesterday, evening sources said. 

Three persons travelling in the wheeler and two others were taken into police custody on information derived from the persons transporting the bombs. 

Meanwhile, sources revealed that with the transportation of the bombs the LTTE may have been targeting the PA Election Campaign in Anuradhapura.
