The National Unity Alliance (Jathika Samagi Peramuna) is not a constituent party of the PA, said PA General Secretary Minister D.M. Jayaratne in a press release issued yesterday. He said all candidates belonging to the PA contesting the forthcoming election are being fielded under the chair symbol of the PA only. Candidates of the National Unity Alliance have not been allowed to use the President's photograph or any other picture which would create the impression that they are from the PA. If any candidate other than those is using such pictures belonging to the PA they are requested to stop it forthwith, Minister Jayaratne said in his statement. He further said that those who are wishing to vote for the PA at the forthcoming election should cast their vote for the 'chair' symbol only.
