Two LTTE suicide cadres triggered explosions near the 13th mile post on the Pulmoddai-Bogasyaya road when a two man army patrol attempted to arrest them last week, police sources revealed. Both terrorists and two soldiers were killed in the blast. According to available information, troops on patrol had seen two persons coming out of the jungle and walking towards the road. "Troops had signaled the suspects to raise their hands and walk towards them," a police official said. However, the terrorists had triggered themselves killing the two soldiers on the spot. The bodies of the two terrorists were later handed over to the Padaviya hospital to be handed over to the ICRC.
