Professor Senaka Bandaranayake, a well-known scholar will be appointed as High Commissioner to India, Foreign Ministry sources said yesterday. Prof. Bandaranayake will be replacing Mr. Mangala Moonesinghe who had vacated his appointment a few months back to take over duties as High Commissioner to London. Sixty-two-year-old Prof. Bandaranayake, who was the Vice-Chancellor of the Kelaniya University, has held several key positions in UNESCO and universities of London and Maryland.
