After the judgement made for the Sadeepa Lakshan murder case, his mother told with tears yesterday, " the verdict gives me no happiness because it won't bring my son back, but it will at least, prevent other children falling victim to similar crimes." Sadeepa's mother, Mrs. P Shanthi, thanked the authorities and the lawyers for the justice that was done and she was with the opinion that the authorities must take necessary steps to implement the punishment to bring about fear among criminals such as Amila Nuwan. Sadeepa's father strongly stated that justice was done and the accused has to be sentenced. Sadeepa's mother with tears said last October, "I am living because of my other children, otherwise I would've died with him. I have wept enough that I have no tears left." She said with a breaking voice. The teenage criminal Amila Nuwan de Silva, a relative of Sadeepa was found guilty of abduction on Thursday by a three judge bench of the High Court.
