41st death anniversary of SWRD today

The 41st death anniversary of the late Prime Minister, S W R D Bandaranaike, father of President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga falls today.

President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, Ms. Sirimavo Bandaranaike, Ministers and Members of Parliament and Ambassadors will participate in floral tribute scheduled to be held at the Horagalla Bandaranaike Memorial today.

A host of ceremonies all over the country, including pirith ceremonies, medical clinics, donation of spectacles, donations to disabled have been organised by the Bandaranaike Commemorative Foundation.

An all night pirith ceremony was held last night at the BMICH to confer merit on the late Prime Minister.
