Under phase one of the skills development project of the Rana Viru Seva Authority 18 family members of service personnel from Anamaduwa electorate who had completed a three-week training programme conducted by the IDB were awarded skills development certificates on September 21. The Skills Development Project of the RVSA aims at providing the family members of service personnel an opportunity for suitable self-employment after training, RVSA Chairperson, Tara de Mel said yesterday. Under this programme family members of service personnel currently serving in operational areas qualifying for technical education and vocational training will be identified and trained by the state sector. Recruitment will be on an electoral basis from the RVSA databases, sources said.
