The results of the October 10 General Elections will be released live on the Internet through the website of the Department of Information at www.news.lk, sources revealed. This website will be the official site to release election results live on the Internet, the Commissioner of Elections recently said. The results will be published live from the office of the Commissioner of Elections with the assistance of the Institute of Computer Technology (ICT) of the Colombo University and the Sri Lanka Telecom. Meanwhile the Department of Information has also made necessary arrangements to E-mail its daily new bulletin and press releases, including security reports to the media. Local and foreign media are requested to send their E-mail addresses to the Department of Information before October 1.
