Police and Army detectives found two suicide kits with high-powered explosives used by the LTTE suicide bombers from Colombo and Chilaw recently. According an LTTE suspect in custody, one of these kits was to be used to attack PA National List member, Vardaraj Perumal. “But
the weight of the suicide kit is enough to cause the deaths of more than
one person,” said the Director, Police Public Relations and Media at a
press conference yesterday. The
STF and the Army detected the second suicide kit at a security checkpoint
in Colombo.
