Sri Lankan expats questions the political view of Sihala Urumaya
[02 October 2000]

Sydney based Sri Lankan expatriates in Australia questions the ability of new "Sihala Urumaya" political party to handle the country's burning ethnic conflict without bringing in the bitter strands of racism into the whole issue, reported the "Sunday Observer".

The sources reported that the Sri Lanka Forum has repeatedly questioned the racist point of view of the “Sihala Urumaya”.

The sources highlighted the fact that this party came to limelight only due to the lack of thoughtfulness of the previous leaders and their inability to provide a proper leadership to lead the nation.

Furthermore the Forum insisted the fact that the “Sihala Urumaya” should take a step forward to re-establish unity among the different ethnic groups.
