The LTTE suicide bomb attack on a National Unity Alliance election rally killed 26 persons on Monday.This incident occurred in Muttur, Trincomalee, the Eastern part of the island where the majority of the population consists of Tamils and Muslims. Prajathanthra, the foundation for freedom and expression condemned this LTTE bomb attack as a threat to the democratic process in the North and East. Further they mentioned the fact that only PA and allied parties’ candidates and supporters have been facing such unfortunate incidents. However the UNP members enjoy the fullest support to continue their election propaganda under the patronage of the LTTE, revealed the sources.
