Media misquote Susanthika

Susanthika Jayasingha, the sprint queen, denied the false media allegations made against her. 

Jayasingha, who secured a bronze medal for Sri Lanka after 52 years at the Sydney Olympics, said that the international and local media had capitalised on her poor English. 

Furthermore she insisted the fact that she had neither made any comments on a sexual harassment nor had she mentioned a name of a Minister, the sources revealed. But she had accepted the fact that she only said she had problems with some officials.

The newspapers reported that Susanthika was given a warm welcome at the Bandaranayake International Airport. Several Ministers, including Minister of Fisheries Mahinda Rajapaksha, Deputy Minister of Sports Jeevan Kumarathunga were among them.
