The initial steps have been taken to pay Rs 1 million as compensation for Muttur victims. The sources reported that the Ministry of Port Development, Rehabilitation has already made necessary arrangements to pay this sum of money as compensation and funeral expenses. This compensation money would be paid to the victims when their relatives produce the relevant documents of identification to the District Agent of Trincomalee. The newspapers report that those who were affected by the bomb blast will initially receive Rs.10,000 as compensation and Rs. 2000 will be issued as assistance for funeral expenses.
