Tight security coverage for the parliamentary election

A tight security programme is scheduled to be implemented to prevent election malpractices during the parliamentary election scheduled to be held tomorrow, the Special Police Election Secretariat reported yesterday. 

A total of 38,000 police personnel will be on duty in uniforms with their firearms. 

The sources quoting the head of the Police Election Secretariat DIG  A.A Samarasinghe, stated that 2000 mobile teams are set up to face any emergency situation.

Meanwhile the Police Election Secretariat has received 1337 complaints from various parts of the country, sources reported.
