As the Norwegian-backed peace bid with the LTTE suffered a major blow ahead of next week’s polls, President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga says that the Tigers have left us with no alternative but to continue the war to a successful conclusion, sources said. “ From now on it is a no holds barred to the military campaign,” the President said adding that the Tigers were uninterested in talks and backed out of a peace process initiated with the help of the Norwegian government. She said although the LTTE was not running for parliament the group was a formidable “ insidious force who participated in a bizarre way” by killing people who take part in a democratic process.
