The LTTE fired artillery towards Jaffna Kachceri area to disrupt the election process wounding seven civilians persons, military sources revealed. Military spokesman Brigadier Sanath Kaunaraatne said that the election officers had to shift the counting centre to another location because of the LTTE shelling. The LTTE also launched shell attacks on civilians targets atr Navalakadu, Varani, Jaffna Telecom area, Achchuveli, Nallour, Kodikamam and Vannappanai in the Jaffna city and other areas, he said. Three civilians in Kodikamam, two civilians at Vannappanai and one each at Achchuveli and Nallur were injured in the shelling.
