The present Sri Lanka Muslim Congress co-leader and National Unity Alliance General Secretary Rauf Hakeem's Colombo residence had been attacked by a defeated candidate last Friday. The defeated candidate in Colombo district, once a supporter of the main opposition party UNP, has surrounded Hakeem's residence together with some thugs who are supporting him and damaged his house by stoning, sources reported. Sources said that the defeated candidate had demanded to nominate him to the parliament on the National List. However Hakeem has refused to accord with this proposal as there were more compitent persons than this defeated candidate. Further the Deputy Propaganda Secretary, UNA, T.K. Azoor said that the party will take diciplinary action against this defeated candidate, sources reported.
