Army defuses a bomb near Vavuniya station

On October 25 around 9.35pm at Vavuniya , the troops on railway track duties  recovered a land mine weighing 30kg. However Army bomb disposal team defused the land mine.

The sources report that the LTTE cadres were probably targeting to destroy the train due at that time. 

If the bomb was not recovered, it would have caused a great destruction to the railway lines and also would have taken the lives of many innocent passengers.
