LTTE violates temporary cease-fire 
 [30 October 2000]

Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) have violated the temporary cease-fire during the two days that Polio immunisation programme was conducted in the North and East, security sources revealed.

"The LTTE fired mortars at troops in Nagarkovil and Eluthumadduval, wounding eight soldiers " military spokesman Brigadier Sanath Karunaratne told foreign correspondents.

According to security sources this was the 8th time that the LTTE had violated a cease-fire.
