The Indian President,Shri K R Narayan states that joint international efforts of India and Sri Lanka in promoting a comprehensive convention to combat terrorism is one good evidence of how effectively the two countries are handling the situation. In a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Indian President while accepting the credentials from Prof. Senaka Bandaranayake, High Commissioner designated to India, praised the group spirit of the two countries. The Indian President said that he was confident of Indo- Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement that would help to translate the close political relationship of the two countries into greater economic interaction by creating a framework for increasing the volume of trade and investment between the two countries.
