Group of Tamil residents help train passengers
 [31 October 2000]

A group of Tamil residents and Nuwara Eliya Pradeshiya Sabha, Chairman, P. Marimuttu provided meals and lodging facilities to over 150 passengers of the train, which was set on fire on Sunday at Watagoda by a group of persons.

Central Region, Acting DIG, Pathmasiri Liyanage thanked the Tamil residents for providing facilities for the passengers.

The passengers were reportedly from Kalutara, Colombo, Kelaniya, Peradeniya, Gampaha, Nawalapitiya and Watagoda.
